Personality changes associated with increasing environmental concerns

Using data from 58,748 participants a nationally representative German sample, we tested preregistered hypotheses about factors that impact concerns the environment over time. We found environmental increased modestly 2009 to 2017. Individuals in middle adulthood tended be more concerned and showed consistent increases concern time than younger or older people. Consistent with previous research, personality traits were correlated concerns. present novel evidence related neuroticism openness experience. These findings highlight importance of understanding individual level associated changes time, towards promotion sustainable behavior.
